Position Overview Statement:

Oversee and manage supply chain operations in the pharmaceutical industry, including procurement and inventory of materials as well as logistics, selection of vendors, and importation of materials to USA from China. Make recommendations to improve quality, productivity and efficiency of the operations. Assist in transferring the technologies from China by serving as a Chinese-English interpreter and by translating documents written in Chinese to English.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review or update supply chain practices of the pharmaceutical industry in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws
  • Develop material costs forecast or standard cost lists
  • Interact with appropriate personnel to resolve issues and to ensure that all requirements are met
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities
  • Develop and implement improved systems, best practices, inventory control and other optimizations to grow business efficiently
  • Develop management and project reports
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders
  • Serve as a Chinese-English interpreter and translate documents written in Chinese to English
  • Assist in transferring technologies from China to USA

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, statistics, engineering or science
  • 6+ years of pharmaceutical cGMP experience, including 2+ years in managing supply chain activities
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese languages
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of ERP would be a plus
  • Good planning, organizing, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Ability to travel within and outside USA on as needed basis (<25%)
